Legal Recognition

The Island University is established in Panama, Republic of Panama in accordance with Law No. 25 of June 12, 1995 as Island Open University Foundation. 

The legal mandate of the university is contained in the University's Articles of Charter Protocolised as the Republic of Panama Public Document No. 953.

The University has equally been registered as a University company in the independent Commonwealth State of Belize, thus positioning itself as a truly international cross border higher education provider.
