Mission & Vision

Establishment and Legal Status 
The Island Open University is established as non-profit Foundation in Panama to promote, protect and extend the intellectual property of its members and the global learning community, which it will create. It is legally incorporated and it operates under the Laws of the Republic of Panama. It was officially empowered through the Protocolisation Constitution Deed issued as the Republic of Panama Public Document No. 953 of 20th January, 2005. The Island Open University is also legally registered and incorporated as a University company in the independent State of Belize, a British Commonwealth nation. 

Mission
It is our considered and chosen obligation and duty at the Island Open University to serve the people of all nations without discrimination, promote lifelong learning for all, facilitate Learning Without Frontiers, expand access to further and higher education, provide opportunities for the expression of academic freedom, and to serve as a veritable channel for qualitative continuing education for professionals and working executives at all levels.

Vision
To become a leading learner-centered international cross border provider of higher education and lifelong learning for all, through Open Distance Learning.
